ST. LOUIS. (September 1, 2011) – Gateway Pet Guardians, a nonprofit animal rescue, is partnering with H.A.L.O. (Helping Animals find Loving Owners)  to raise money for animal rescues around St. Louis and the surrounding metro area with Pooch-A-Palooza, a family and pet-friendly music festival featuring five local acts on Sunday, September 18.

Pooch-A-Palooza will be held at the Swansea Moose park on Illinois 159. Music will start at noon with One More Round: A Tribute to Johnny Cash featuring Bill Forness, followed by Elvis tribute artist Steve Brandis, local band Neon Cadillac and closing with Big Mike Aguirre and the Blu-City All-Stars. The event will also feature a demonstration by the Cahokia Police K-9 Unit at 1pm. Food and drinks will be available for purchase with pet-related vendors and adoptable dogs from local rescue groups also in attendance.

Tickets are $15 per person and can be purchased online at www.gatewaypets.com/events,  children 12 and under have free admission as well as pets. Local rescues will also be selling tickets and each receives $10 from the $15 ticket. Check with your local group for details.
