Meet Chantilly! She’s sweet, friendly, St. Louis rescue dog up for adoption and has the most beautiful brindle coat that shows off her eyes. She’s not just good looks, though! Chantilly is house-trained and crate trained. She is great with other dogs, cats, and older children but hasn’t been around young children yet.
The beautiful Chantilly started off her short life as a stray dog in East St. Louis. The poor girl accidentally wandered into a junk yard on our feeding route where the resident junk yard dog attacked her. What could have been a terrible point in her life ended up being the best thing that ever happened to her- she became a Gateway Pet Guardians rescue dog! And now she’s living in a great foster home and has the opportunity to get adopted and spend the rest of her life in a loving forever home.
Chantilly adjusted to living in a foster home very quickly. Although very shy when she was rescued, she now loves her foster family and everybody who comes to visit. She really just wants a lap she can lay her head in all day! She enjoys getting affection and attention and when someone quits touching her, she’ll do her best to get them to continue. And when she looks at them with those gorgeous eyes how could they not pet her for a little bit longer?! She loves cuddling, especially in bed, and is fun to snuggle with because she’s so soft and gives the sweetest kisses
Even though Chantilly is a great cuddler, she’s certainly not boring! Her all-time favorite game is playing fetch with her foster parents; she would run after that ball all day if somebody would keep throwing it! At less than two-years old, Chantilly is super smart, learns quickly, and knows the words sit, lay, down, stay, bed, no and many more. She loves being outdoors and going for long walks, especially on trails, and is fantastic on a martingale leash.
