Foster a strayTrendley was rescued in June of 2011. She was found wandering down Trendley Street in East St. Louis, emaciated with an embedded collar, dragging a broken tether.  Whomever originally owned Trendley never loosened the collar they put on her as a pup. As she grew, the collar began to slowly strangle her, and the skin around her neck literally began growing over it.

Her wounds appeared as though she may have been forced to lay in a small space for a prolonged period of time. Whoever had her, it was obvious they hadn’t payed much attention to her in a very very long time.  How she escaped, we’ll never know but it’s a good thing that she did. She was on her last leg when we brought her in, and yet made a miraculously quick recovery as many of our rescues do.  A little love and attention is all they need.

Trendley b4Trendley was a rough little bag of bones the day Jamie and P.J. brought in this beautiful blue-eyed pittie. She touched everyone’s hearts – perhaps it was her heart-shaped nose and Betty Boop eye lashes.

She has since been adopted and is now called Bella Blue, for her stunning blue eyes.
